Doctor Who: The Forgotten #6 and Vortex Loop
IDW comic book from January 2009, a great final issue to this six-part story. The cover is by Ben Templesmith, and the story is written by Tony Lee.
This comic book mentions the TARDIS component Vortex Loop, also my blog title!
Vortex Loop Timeline:
25 December 2005: interactive Doctor Who episode "Attack of the Graske" premieres, in which the Doctor names several TARDIS console components including the Vortex Loop. This episode is available for viewing at the BBC Doctor Who website.
2007: The term is defined in the Doctor Who Encyclopedia by Gary Russell
May 2008: I started writing my blog and named it the Vortex Loop
January 2009: Doctor Who The Forgotten #6 uses the term, the second time I've seen it in Doctor Who and the first time since I used it as a title.
I previously wrote about the first issue of the series here.

Patrick McGoohan 1928-2009
Patrick McGoohan, star of 1960s British TV shows The Prisoner and Danger Man, has died at 80. The shows are fascinating and influential to this day, and The Prisoner, which McGoohan co-created, inspired a remake in production now.
Surreal and thought-provoking, The Prisoner inspires debate and analysis about the true meaning of the Number Six character. Danger Man is a good spy series capturing the time and place of 1960s Britain. One episode, "Not-So-Jolly Roger," includes the setting of an unregulated pirate radio station on a fort at sea These British pirate radio broadcasts from international waters were prevalent at the time. The show is mysterious and engaging, with action and adventure.
This picture which I took in London in 2000 includes Big Ben, included in the Prisoner episode title "The Chimes of Big Ben."

Matt Smith is the Doctor!
The actor who will play the Eleventh Doctor on Doctor Who in 2010 was revealed today. Matt Smith previously co-starred with Billie Piper (Doctor Who's Rose Tyler) in "The Ruby in the Smoke" and "The Shadow in the North", as well as "Secret Diary of a Call Girl." He played Sally Lockhart's friend Jim Taylor in the TV adaptations of Philip Pullman's books and Tim in "Secret Diary of a Call Girl." Mr. Smith has also appeared in the play "The History Boys," and on TV and film, "Moses Jones," "The Street," "Party Animals," and "Gotham, IL." The youngest ever Doctor, he is 26 years old and from Northampton, England.
I'm looking forward to learning more about Mr. Smith, and wish him the best of luck in taking on the role of the Doctor!
