TARDIS console, "Attack of the Graske"
The Vortex Loop, Gary Russell tells us in Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia, is an "essential component of the TARDIS console" that allows the Doctor to travel through time and space. It is introduced in the interactive episode "Attack of the Graske" which allows the viewer to take a journey in the TARDIS along with the Doctor and fly the ship.
